Terroir and wine-making

The estate of Baglio Sorìa is located in the agro trapanese: the vineyards that occupy the Sicilian IGT lands are placed on the hill at 250 meters above sea level. The particular soil and climate conditions, the clay-limestone soil, the wealth of natural resources has convinced Firriato to choose this area as a protagonist of viticulture focused on a type of organic cultivation. To be able to create excellent wines that would increase their value thanks to a sustainable process, able to enhance the natural qualities of the grapes, was a challenge overcome with satisfaction. The Syrah Caeles is the result of a traditional red wine making in steel tanks and 3 months of aging in French oak barrels of second and third pass.

Notes of taste

At first sight, the Caeles Syrah from Firriato is striking for its intense ruby red colour with black veins; on the nose it softens and releases nuances of red country fruits and undergrowth, to which are added floral and spicy notes. Rich and tasty, it satisfies the palate with a natural intensity that makes it particularly pleasant to drink.

Wine at the table

The Caeles Syrah is the right host to honor the most diverse convivial occasions; gives the best of himself in the company of first dishes rich in flavor, cheeses of medium maturation, meat seconds and game dishes.

Curiosity

'Great debut' for Luigi Veronelli, the Caeles Syrah wine has won several awards, including the '95 points' Gold Medal of the International Award for organic wines.
