Terroir and vinification
Grillo Sauvignon Blanc is a wine made in Belice Valley (Valle del Belice), in the western part of Sicily, where the climate is typically mediterranean. The vines are planted in a dark alluvial soil, which releases high organic substances. These details of the soil are fundamental to release to the wines by Barone Montalto organoleptics characteristics. The fermentation of Grillo and Sauvignon Blanc grapes lasts 20 days at the temperature 12-14°C.
Tasting notes
On the chalice, Grillo Sauvignon Blanc by Barone Montalto shines with its pale yellow colour, enriched by greenish reflections. Its fragrances reminds of a strong citrus smell, specifically the grapefruit, and of delicate orange flowers. On the palate fruits sentors become exotics and balance the lively acidity and the whole complessity, giving pleasement in the end.
