Terroir and wine-making
The Gelso Grande estate is located in the heart of the Mediterranean, between Mount Erice and the Egadi islands. This is where the Sicilian grapes form their character: we are in the IGT Sicilian Lands of the agro of Trapani, where the vineyards are located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level and the vines are raised against a spalliera with Guyot pruning. After being picked by hand, each year in due time, by the winemakers of the estate, they are transferred to the cellar to be processed into a Sicilian wine, strong of its typical traits. The vinification involves a first fermentation phase, ten days at 26 °C, a lactic malo fermentation and an aging of two months in American oak barrels and one month in bottle. It serves to sketch out hints that intrigue the senses with a typically Sicilian personality.
Notes of taste
Presented as an "archetype of Sicilian", this Nero d'Avola Feudi Branciforti dei Bordonaro proudly shows the typical traits of its Sicilian origins: intense ruby red color rich in purplish reflections and strong hints of ripe red fruits, plum and Mediterranean scrub perfectly balanced by balsamic notes.
Wine at the table
Served in a medium-sized glass, preferably at a temperature of 16-18 °C, the Nero d'Avola Branciforti IGT creates an exquisite harmony of flavors with different preparations of earth, red or white meat.
Curiosity
Nero d'Avola Branciforti is a label suitable for accompanying various convivial occasions: a versatile wine that knows how to make its good figure.
