Lumera Donnafugata is the rosé wine to be enjoyed with eyes closed to evoke all the warmth and soul of Sicily. The rosé of Donnafugata is made from Nocera, Syrah, Nero d'Avola and Pinot Noir grapes, all grown in fencing with a cordon tapered pruning. The harvest of Lumera grapes takes place in August and, specifically, each type has its "favorite decade": Pinot Noir in the first decade, Nero d'Avola Syrah and Nocera in the third decade. After an initial cold maceration and a fermentation in steel, it is aged in tanks for two months and another two months in the bottle.
Notes of taste
Lumera Donnafugata dazzles immediately with its bright color, a bright pink that is the background to important olfactory notes. The nose is characterized by a large bouquet with notes of pomegranate, wild strawberries and floral essences. In the mouth it offers a fresh and savory accent, with an excellent fruity persistence.
Wine at the table
The best match at table is with a rich aperitif. Bride paired with focacce of vegetables, Club Sandwich and raw shellfish. The rosé should be served at a temperature of 10 to 12 °C.
Curiosity
Lumera is the woman portrayed on the bottle, an evocative face that evokes joy and vitality. Lumera is also the protagonist of a well-known Sicilian poem that celebrates courtly love, typical of the Dolce Stil Novo.
